Yamaha FJR1300 Oval Sport Slip-ons, W/Removable sount restrictor Performance: The Yamaha FJR1300 on the Staintune in-house Dyno managed to achieve a horsepower gain of 5 Hp over the standard exhaust system. That is just with the pipes and no engine modifications. On road test there was a real gain in the bike's throttle response which was apparent throughout the mid range. Weight savings: There is a 2Kg weight saving over standard when fitting the Staintune. I want to know about the sound: The sound is a much throatier note than the quiet standard system (or the sewing machine as it's known). It's a quite pleasant note, even better with the restrictors out. Restrictors in: 92 dba @ 4000 rpm ADR Compliant - YES its legal Restrictors out: 96 dba @ 4000 rpm Finish: Have a look for yourself; they look magnificent on this popular sports tourer. The look of the twin oval mufflers is far superior to that of the bulky and unattractive standard system.
