If you ride a SxS/UTV long enough, the CVT belt stops being a “part” and starts being a plan. It’s the link between your engine and the ground, and when it’s happy your machine feels crisp and predictable. When it’s not, you get glazing, slip, heat, that hot-rubber smell… and sometimes a long ride back to the trailer.

The frustrating part is that most belt failures aren’t mysterious. They’re usually the result of one enemy:

Heat.

CVT systems are basically controlled friction. Friction makes heat. Heat changes rubber. And once the belt gets too hot (or stays hot too often), it hardens, loses grip, starts slipping more, and the cycle feeds itself.

That’s why “runs cooler” isn’t just marketing fluff when it’s real. Cooler operation can mean:

more consistent engagement

less slip under load

better longevity

fewer surprise failures on the worst possible day

What makes the All Balls All-Traxion HD CVT belt different?

The All Balls All-Traxion HD belts are built around one goal: reduce heat build-up while keeping (or improving) grip. The published claim is that they’re designed to run up to 20°F cooler, based on “washout comparative testing.”

1) Designed to run up to 20°F cooler (washout comparative testing)

Lower belt temperature usually points to less slip and/or better cooling. Either way, it’s the direction you want—especially if you ride sand, mud, mountains, tow, or carry extra weight.

2) Deeper cogs + increased flexibility

Deeper cogs and improved flexibility can help the belt bend and recover more smoothly as it cycles through the clutches. Less rigidity can mean less internal heat and better cooling.

3) Manufactured in Japan with high-end rubber components

Materials matter. Higher quality rubber compounds are more resistant to heat cycling and breakdown, which can translate to fewer failures and more consistent performance over time.

4) High-strength aramid cords and fibers for grip

Aramid reinforcement is commonly used where strength and stability under load are critical. The goal here is more bite without the belt turning into a heat sponge.

5) Cut Taper edges (vs Ground Taper)

All-Traxion belts use a Cut Taper manufacturing process intended to create a more consistent edge with fewer loose cord fibers versus Ground Taper. In the real world, cleaner edges can help reduce fraying and keep the belt “behaving” longer.

6) Performance matching and exceeding OEM

In other words: this isn’t meant to be a “universal” belt that sorta-fits. It’s intended to meet or beat OEM performance expectations for the applications it covers.

7) Two-year warranty (No Hassle)

All-Traxion HD belts are listed with a two-year warranty, which is a meaningful confidence signal in a world where belts are often treated like wear items.

Who is this belt a smart upgrade for?

Not everyone needs a “heavy duty” belt. But you probably do if any of these sound like you:

Autumn is approaching! A stretch of back road you've ridden during the summer changes, suddenly alive with color—burnt orange, deep red, golden yellow. Riding through is like moving through a painting that shifts with every bend in the road. The cool air hits differently on a bike in the fall. It’s crisp and clean. You feel it on your face, your gloves, and the edges of your jacket. It wakes you up, sharpens your senses, and makes you more present in every mile.

This season brings extra considerations for riders, for both comfort and safety. Having the right outerwear jacket will make those Autumn rides better than the one before!

Here are some key points to keep in mind when selecting a jacket:

Material Choices

Textile: Often insulated or with removable liners. Look for windproof and water-resistant shells.

Leather: Excellent abrasion resistance but usually needs added thermal layers underneath for warmth.

Thinking of Cooler Weather: Why a Full-Face Helmet Makes Sense as the Weather Cools Down

Today Mother Nature treated us with a day of cool temperatures - much less than the norm! While we know it will warm up again as it's just August, today is a glimpse of the Autumn days to come! And a good time to start thinking about why a full-face or modular helmet makes sense on cooler days.

As the weather cools down, a full-face helmet becomes more than just protective gear—it adds real comfort to your ride.

First off, it keeps the wind off your face. Even a short ride can feel twice as long when cold air is blasting you at highway speeds. A full-face helmet helps block that chill, especially around your nose, ears, and neck.

Then there’s the warmth factor. Most riders don’t think much about body heat loss until it starts to happen. A full-face lid helps you retain that heat, keeping you more comfortable and alert on the bike.

Let’s not forget weather protection. If you’ve ever been caught in a surprise drizzle or hit a swarm of bugs in 50-degree weather, you already know how much a visor can help. No stinging wind, no watery eyes—just clear vision and a smoother ride.

And here’s a bonus: full-face helmets also cut down wind noise. Less fatigue, better focus, and a more enjoyable ride overall.

If you’ve been wearing a half or open-face helmet all summer, this might be the time to make the switch. Another reason to consider -- many helmet models are being discounted as next year’s versions start to roll in.

Sena 60S vs. Cardo Packtalk Edge: Which One's Right for You?

If you're looking for a top-tier motorcycle comm system, the Sena 60S and Cardo Packtalk Edge are two of the best out there. Both bring a lot to the table, but they’re designed with slightly different riders in mind. Here’s a breakdown to help you figure out which one fits your needs better.

A Quick Look at the Sena 60S

The Sena 60S is packed with features. It runs on a dual-core CPU, which means it's quick and can handle multiple tasks smoothly such as talking, music, GPS, and more. You’ve got four different intercom options here: Open Mesh, Group Mesh, Bluetooth Intercom, and the new Wave Intercom, which connects through your phone’s cell network for unlimited range.

Audio is solid too, thanks to Harman Kardon 40mm speakers. There’s also AI-powered noise cancellation to block out wind and road noise. On top of that, it has customizable LED lighting (called RideGlow) and comes with a magnetic mount for easy installation. The 60S is rated IPX7 for water resistance, so it’ll hold up in bad weather.

A Quick Look at the Cardo Packtalk Edge

The Packtalk Edge uses Cardo’s second-generation Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC), which makes group chats easy and rock solid—up to 15 riders, no problem. It comes with JBL 40mm speakers that put out crisp, clear audio, and it runs on Bluetooth 5.2 for solid device connections.

One of the best things about the Edge is its fast charging—you’ll get 2 hours of talk time from just a 20-minute charge. It also uses a magnetic Air Mount that’s super easy to pop on and off. It’s rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, so it’s ready for the elements.

The Garmin Zumo 390LM is designed to deal with the conditions that we as motorcyclists, face every day.

This GPS features an easy grip, durable hard rubber case that is both UV-resistant as well as fuel spray resistant. Add that to the fact that you can submerge this unit into as much as 1 meter deep of water for up to 30 minutes and have it still function is amazing. The touch screen is glove friendly, and glare free. The back of the unit has connections for an external headset and a micro SD card slot and a mini USB cable, all which are protected by rubber covers.

The Garmin 390LM comes preloaded with maps of North America. Need more maps? Just connect your Garmin to your computer to download updates, or upload routes from Garmin's BaseCamp trip-planning software. Like the LM suggests, this unit comes with Free lifetime map updates!

But that's not even the exciting part...The Garmin 390LM comes with a feature they are calling Curvy Roads. This allows you to select, from the Calculation Mode, a curvy road experience, which shows you one or more routes that maximize the number of curves along the way, based on a inner-routing algorithm. This option is available along with the standard Shortest Distance, Faster Time and Off Road, that you may have seen on similar GPS units.

This unit features Bluetooth wireless technology. Connect your Garmin with your mobile phone and a Bluetooth-headset or helmet to call points of interest through the interface, or receive and make calls without having to take off your gloves or helmet. Perfect for those last minute plans or unplanned roadside stops. You can also transmit voice prompts to your compatible headset, keeping your focus on the road and not on the display screen, while riding.

As if that wasn't enough, The Garmin Zumo 390LM also features the ability to use an optional Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor (compatible with metal valve stems only), allowing to notice any changes in your tire pressure while you ride. The sensors are sold separately from the unit and one sensor is needed for each tire (up to 4 tires), to make the system work, but if pressure in either tire falls below the threshold, a warning message is displayed on the screen, allowing you to know right away something is wrong. As a safety feature, this really can't be beat.

If you like to get out and explore the unknown roads and find new routes, you need this feature-rich, user-friendly unit. The Garmin Zumo 390LM, allows you to appreciate the ride in safety, as you explore.

Enjoy the ride!
