Sena 60S vs. Cardo Packtalk Edge: Which One's Right for You?
If you're looking for a top-tier motorcycle comm system, the Sena 60S and Cardo Packtalk Edge are two of the best out there. Both bring a lot to the table, but they’re designed with slightly different riders in mind. Here’s a breakdown to help you figure out which one fits your needs better.
The Sena 60S is packed with features. It runs on a dual-core CPU, which means it's quick and can handle multiple tasks smoothly such as talking, music, GPS, and more. You’ve got four different intercom options here: Open Mesh, Group Mesh, Bluetooth Intercom, and the new Wave Intercom, which connects through your phone’s cell network for unlimited range.
Audio is solid too, thanks to Harman Kardon 40mm speakers. There’s also AI-powered noise cancellation to block out wind and road noise. On top of that, it has customizable LED lighting (called RideGlow) and comes with a magnetic mount for easy installation. The 60S is rated IPX7 for water resistance, so it’ll hold up in bad weather.
The Packtalk Edge uses Cardo’s second-generation Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC), which makes group chats easy and rock solid—up to 15 riders, no problem. It comes with JBL 40mm speakers that put out crisp, clear audio, and it runs on Bluetooth 5.2 for solid device connections.
One of the best things about the Edge is its fast charging—you’ll get 2 hours of talk time from just a 20-minute charge. It also uses a magnetic Air Mount that’s super easy to pop on and off. It’s rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, so it’s ready for the elements.
Tons of Communication Options – Mesh, Bluetooth, and even cell-based Wave Intercom.
Excellent Sound – Harman Kardon speakers deliver strong audio.
Noise Cancelling Tech – Adapts to wind and traffic noise using AI.
Looks Cool – RideGlow LEDs and swappable faceplates give it a custom vibe.
Comes with Dual Mounts – Two full clamp kits for easy helmet switching.
Smooth Group Communication – DMC Gen 2 is reliable and easy to use.
Top-Tier Audio – JBL speakers provide great sound for music and calls.
Quick Charging – 20 minutes gives you 2 hours of talk time.
Magnetic Mount – Snaps on securely and easily.
No Cable Updates – Get firmware updates over the air through the app.
Sena 60S: Wave Intercom is great for long-distance chats, but it does rely on cell coverage, which isn’t always available in remote areas. Also, all the extra features might be more than some riders want or need.
Cardo Packtalk Edge: The mesh system is fantastic for riding in groups, but solo riders might not get the full benefit. And while the magnetic Air Mount is slick, some riders still prefer a more locked-in, traditional mount.
You really can’t go wrong with either of these units. The Sena 60S is perfect if you want flexible communication modes and like a bit of flair with your setup. The Cardo Packtalk Edge shines when it comes to group rides, fast charging, and ease of use. Think about how and who you ride with, and one of these will probably stand out as the better fit for your helmet.
